A mixture of old and new, Now Or Neverland: Ode To Hip Hop serves
as a visual representation of a genre that influenced a generation.
Celebrating 45 years since inception, Hip Hop should be reflected in
exhibiting works at varying stages of growth. Artists are encouraged to
deconstruct the genre by exploration of the five elements: MCing, DJing, BBoy (Breaking), Graffiti, and Knowledge.
Staying true to MUCE ‘s Now or Neverland Art Fair, artwork should
reflect the parallels of the artist's fantastical perspectives of
reality and the influence of Hip Hop culture in their
lives. Themes considered for exhibition also include the musical and
political foundations of hip hop such as: Jazz, R&B, Soul, sampling,
socioeconomics disparities, urban living, etc.
Artists
are overall encouraged to submit work that depicts Hip Hop’s influence
in fashion, music, dance, culture, politics, fads & trends over the
past 4 and half decades. The exhibit is open to honor and to critique of

The
City of San José (City) Public Art Program and Environmental Services
Department are seeking an experienced artist, or artist-led team to
develop an artwork related to the new Co-Generation Plant, located at
the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF). This
artwork will be a public-facing feature screening the four (4)
50-foot-high emissions treatment exhaust stacks.
The mission of the City's Environmental Services Department (ESD)
is to work with the community to conserve resources and safeguard the
environment for future generations. Through the ESD, San José strives to
become an environmentally and economically sustainable city. The City
of San José Public Art Program (SJPA)
seeks to build community identity by initiating artworks and
exhibitions that enhance the civic landscape. Public art strives to
reflect the City’s diversity, historic richness, and envision its
present and future. At the Co-Generation Plant, public art will have the
opportunity to enhance our community’s relationship to their
infrastructure.
Artists
are asked to submit qualifications to design, fabricate, and install an
artwork that serves to screen the Co-Generation equipment. Artist may
decide to work with the base-project designed perforated metal screening
system or consider a more 3-dimensional approach. It is also an

The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) and Seattle Parks and Recreation
(PARKS) are seeking artists to create temporary art installations or
social practice activities for selected Seattle parks to activate and
engage their surrounding communities.
ARTS is looking for up to seven artists/artist teams that are interested
in engaging with the community and creating artworks or social practice
activities that are culturally responsive. Artists who have experience
working with residents from historically underrepresented communities
including communities of color, immigrant, and refugee communities to

The Ann Arbor Art Center invites ceramic artists to submit their work to Hot Fresh Glazed,
an exhibition of functional pottery. More than just a cup show, all
functional designs are welcome! Submissions will be juried in two
categories: individual object (cup, mug, plate, bowl, etc.) or
place-setting. Artists may submit up to three images per $35 fee. The
images may represent any combination of objects and sets. Images
representing a full place-setting should show all pieces of the set in a
single image. Any images of single pieces will be considered individual
objects.
Best in Show: $500, with two other “Best of” awards: $150 each. The Ann Arbor Art Center is located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, MI and
welcomes thousands of holiday shoppers each season. This

Boulder Office of Arts + Culture is seeking an artist, or artist team,
for a site-specific public art commission for north Boulder. This
commission will compliment reconstruction of the North Broadway corridor
and visually acknowledge the NoBo Art District. The project’s location

for the Arts in Jackson, WY is seeking proposals from individual
artists or small artist teams for The Center Theater Gallery exhibition
space. The Theater Gallery is an approximately 35-foot long transitional
hallway from the theater to the education pavilion at The Center with
exhibition space on both walls of the sloping, narrow gallery. This is a
high visibility, high traffic exhibition space, with more than 100,000
audience members attending events in and around the campus every year.
The
Center Theater Gallery has a select number of open slots for the coming
year for 6-8 week long exhibitions from January 1-December 31, 2018.
Artists who reside in the Rocky Mountain region are eligible for this
call (MT, WY, CO, UT, ID.)
This
is a juried call. Cutting edge contemporary artists as well as artists
working in traditional media, but with a fresh vision, will be
considered. Excellence, contemporary vision, technical expertise, and
suitability for the space are the criteria by which the jurors will make
their selections. Both emerging and established artists are encouraged
to apply. Artists who have exhibited in the past must wait one year
before re-applying. Artist’s may offer work for sale. A 30% commission
and taxes will be withheld by Center for the Arts. The Center will
provide handling and installation of artwork, limited sales
representation, marketing, a printed postcard, an opening reception for
the artist, and an Artist Talk. The work must arrive at The Center ready
for installation, and the artist is responsible for transporting their
work to and from Center for the Arts.

Center Northwest (PCNW), King County Metro and Youth in Focus are
looking for inspiring images to be installed as public art on King
County Metro bus shelters through public art project, City Panorama. The theme for 2017 City Panorama is open, so creativity is king! Photographs can be submitted between August 15 and October 29, 2017. Photographs
will be printed on 2’ high x 8' wide wooden panels and will remain
installed in King County Metro shelters for up to 10 years.
Many photographers don't necessarily shoot in a panoramic format, but
you can crop your work to fit the 4:1 ratio. Take a slice out of your
image - or stitch several images together, tile, collage... This is
great opportunity to be creative - and do something unique with your

The
Bonnaroo Works Fund, in partnership with Arts at the Airport, is
seeking proposals for four temporary public Bonnaroo-themed artworks at
the Nashville International Airport in Nashville, Tenn. The artworks,
which will be suspended from the ceiling from March 12, 2018 – January
20, 2019, encompass four skylights located in the airport
concourses on the secure side of the terminal. Each selected artist will
receive an honorarium of $4,500 and two general admission tickets to
the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The ideal project will be of
highest artistic quality (any media) and should be inspired by the
principles of the Bonnaroovian Code. The public art work could
communicate the Bonnaroo brand to new and familiar audiences through

It is the intent of the Adams County Office of Cultural Affairs, in

serve the surrounding communities within the County. This pivotal new
facility has been built to combat growing suburban poverty by providing

of an orchard tree farm that local settlers planted in the early 1900s
on the site to reflect both the historic nature and the mission of the
facility. It is the Commission’s hope that the Artist’s work will build

Fairbanks Arts invites artists residing in the state of Alaska over the
age of 18 to submit a portfolio for review for a solo, group, or curated
exhibition in the Bear Gallery. An individual artist may have a solo
exhibit in the Bear Gallery once every four years. Artists who have had a
solo exhibition prior to 2015 are eligible for consideration this year
(curated exhibits are not subject to this policy).
