Embracing Our Differences
Embracing
Our Differences is a not-for-profit that uses the transformative power
of art and education to celebrate the diversity of the human family.
Since 2004, downtown Sarasota's Island Park has been the backdrop for
Embracing Our Differences' colorful, larger-than-life canvases
integrating powerful imagery and thought-provoking messages celebrating
diversity and inclusion. The annual exhibit is the heart of a year-round
comprehensive series of educational initiatives and resources designed
for teachers and students making Embracing Our Differences one of the
largest education programs in Southwest Florida.
Returning to the United States for the
first time in more than 20 years, the World Rowing Championships, the
largest regatta of the year, is organized by international rowing's
governing body, the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Aviron
(FISA). It is the goal of FISA to develop, promote, present and govern
the sport of rowing; and protect the environment through sport. From
September 23rd through October 1st, more than 40,000 spectators and
1,700 athletes will descend on "America's Course," Nathan Benderson
Park.
