Wearable Expressions features wearable art in all media, from separates and full costumes, to jewelry and accessories competing for a total of $20,000 in awards.

Wearable art – clothing, jewelry and accessories that combine craftsmanship, aesthetics and function with the fourth dimension; animation - finds its ultimate expression in Wearable Expressions, the Palos Verdes Art Center’s 7th international exhibition of wearable art.

The competition is open to adults 18 years or older. The categories are fiber, jewelry and accessories.  Each artist can submit up to three items for consideration. Designate a category for each.  Individual or collaborative entries are invited.  Innovation is encouraged!

The Lee Gallery at Clemson University is now accepting entries for its biennial “Clemson National Print and Drawing Exhibition: Adaptable: Facing the Future”. Artists are invited to submit up to three entries works investigating change and how we as individuals and as a culture process the world around us. Awards of $500.00, $300.00 and $100.00 will be given. Our juror this year is Sydney A. Cross, a noted printmaker and retired faculty member from Clemson University after teaching for 33 years. 

MACLA is pleased to announce its sixth Chicana/o Biennial, an exhibition and public forum conceived to take inventory of and invite reflection every two years on the continuously emergent energy, critical edge, and aesthetic interventions within contemporary Chicano art. As such, this year’s biennial takes a thematic approach by asking the following questions: 1) What are the pressing concerns at this moment in time? (politics) 2) What does Chicana/o art look like today? (aesthetics) 3) How do artists engage the community? (activism & organizing).

The City of Littleton Fine Arts Board proudly presents the 51st Annual Own an Original Arts Exhibition. Awarding over $1,800 in cash prizes! This exhibition is open to Colorado residents who are able to deliver their artwork in person to the Littleton Museum. Artwork cannot be shipped to Littleton Museum. This competition is open to any medium except photography. The best of show winner will receive a one-person exhibition the following year. Please read submission rules and requirements carefully.

Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA), the Anchorage Park Foundation (APF) and the Anchorage Downtown Partnership (ADP) are pleased to announce a call for artists to design and fabricate innovative, moveable/portable and modular outdoor seating. The prototype may tested for use throughout Anchorage including parks, public or private outdoor venues, public or private plazas, farmers’ markets and other spaces. CIHA and project partners invite Alaska-based artists and designers of all backgrounds to participate in this design invitation to meet several goals:

The Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC or Artists Coalition) is an artist-centered, artist-run alternative space that presents a variety of exhibitions of contemporary artists' work in its Mallin Gallery, Jacqueline B. Charno Gallery, and the Underground Gallery.

CRAFTING COMMUNITY: SDA 2016 INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION IN PRINT

EXHIBITION IN PRINT: SDA member and non-member artists working in or inspired by fiber arts and/or textile media are invited to submit work for a juried issue of the Surface Design Journal entitled Crafting Community: SDA Inaugural International Exhibition in Print. Selected work will appear in print in the winter 2016 issue of the Surface Design Journal (publication date December 23, 2016).

The Morean is pleased to invite photographers currently residing in the US to submit entries for possible exhibition in the 2016 national photography exhibition “The Journey: Photographs along the Way.” The exhibition will be held at the Morean Arts Center January 14 – February 26, 2017.

The Billboard Creative is excited to announce that submissions are now open for its 2016 Los Angeles Billboard Exhibition.  

Submissions are currently being accepted for the 2016 Los Angeles Exhibition.  The Billboard Creative is an all-volunteer nonprofit that produces public art shows on billboards throughout Los Angeles.  Imagine your art viewed on a massive scale, by tens of thousands of Angelenos on their daily commutes. Public art displayed in a quintessential Los Angeles medium.  Open Internationally to all disciplines - if you can put it in a digital file we can put it on a billboard.   

In 2015 The Billboard Creative put up 48 billboards from both domestic and international artist covering vast disciplines of art. 

The White River Valley Museum, in partnership with the City of Auburn, Washington, is seeking submissions for the 8th Annual Small Works, Big Presents: The Gift of Art juried art show and sale. This exhibition and art sale celebrates the diversity of the Pacific Northwest visual arts community by displaying the work of established and emerging artists working in small format in all media and offering an opportunity to purchase fine artwork at affordable prices during the holiday shopping season.

The exhibition will run from November 16th through December 18th, 2016 at the White River Valley Museum.

The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council are seeking to purchase sculpture from Colorado artists, galleries and/or hosts of sculpture-on-loan programs in Colorado for two new parks.

The City of Auburn is seeking artists and/or artist groups working in two-dimensional media to exhibit their work at three City of Auburn gallery spaces during 2017. Galleries are within City operated buildings including City Hall, Auburn Senior Center (Cheryl Sallee Gallery) and Community and Event Center. ABOUT THE ART MART

Since 2003, the Art Mart has showcased the art of local and regional artists working in a variety of styles, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, pottery, mixed media art, jewelry, mosaics, glass, and other media.

Proceeds of the Art Mart benefit the participating artists and the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center, a non-profit organization that supports year-round visual and performing arts programs at the center.

The Bath House Cultural Center is a facility of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs that is dedicated to fostering the growth, development and quality of multi-cultural arts. The center emphasizes innovative visual and performing arts as well as other multi-disciplinary events throughout the year.

The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) and Seattle Parks and Recreation (PARKS) are seeking artists to create temporary art installations or social practice activities for selected Seattle parks to activate and engage their surrounding communities. The funding of this program is made possible by the Seattle Park District approved by voters in 2014.



ARTS is looking for artists/artist teams who are interested in engaging with the community and creating artworks or social practice activities. We encourage artists who have experience working with residents from historically underrepresented communities including communities of color, low income, immigrant, and refugee communities to develop their artwork to apply. The call is open to artists residing in Washington State. The application deadline is 11 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 (Pacific Daylight Time).

Representing the West: A New Frontier is open to all artists. We are interested in artwork in any medium that considers the changing cultures and myths of the American West. We welcome non-traditional subject matter, materials and concepts as well as traditional depictions of the West, including audio and video submissions. $5,000 in prize money will be awarded, including Best of Show, 1st Prize, 2nd Prize. People’s Choice Award winner will be offered the opportunity for a one-person show in one of the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center’s galleries. Juror for the 2017 show is artist, Don Stinson.

This show is your chance to demonstrate your talent and point of view. The work of photography students that are emerging into the art world is how we picture the future. This call for entry is open to current undergraduate and graduate students in photography. All capture types; subject matter and photographic processes are eligible to submit.

The City of Sarasota is sponsoring a design competition related to a recently constructed downtown parking garage located at 1538 State Street between Orange Avenue and Lemon Avenue.  This design competition is limited to artists that reside or have an office/artist studio within a 150 mile radius of the City of Sarasota.  The parking garage sits just one block off the heart of Main Street.  The new garage stands six stories high and includes retail space on the first floor along State Street.  The façade of the parking garage gives an appearance of a structure other than a parking garage.

This competititon will be judged based on a written description of your proposed artwork for this project and illustrations of the proposed artwork which are to be submitted in your response to this Call.

The City of Pompano Beach’s Fire Department has acquired a piece of steel from the World Trade Center for use in a memorial for the 343 first responders that died saving lives on September 11, 2001. The City would like to commission an artist to integrate the piece of steel into a memorial. The City has created a design concept they would like the artist to fabricate. The artist is allowed to have some artistic freedom on the design; however, overall, the design concept’s integrity must remain intact.

The Office of Arts & Culture (ARTS) and Seattle Center (SC) are seeking artists to develop temporary artworks for the 2017 Poetry Garden Art Series on the Seattle Center campus. The theme for the year’s series of artworks is Seattle Center Festál Turns 20.

The City of Denver’s Art & Venues Public Art Program and The River Vision Art Selection Panel have released a Request for Qualifications for artists who wish to work on a public art project for the River Vison Project. The goal of the River Vision Project is to make the South Platte River corridor the premier outdoor recreation destination and an environmental educational resource for the city and the state. River Vision includes four related projects: Grant Frontier Park, Pasquinel’s Landing Park, Florida to Asbury Reach, and Johnson Habitat Park. The parks are located from W. Wesley Avenue to West Virginia Avenue in south Denver along the South Platte River. 

ALL TO SUBMIT QUALIFICATIONS: NEIGHBORHOOD GATEWAY GALLERIES

The City of San Jose Public Art Program (SJPA) is seeking an artist, or artist team, to create artworks for underpasses in three locations through a participatory workshop process with San Jose residents as part of the Neighborhood Gateway Galleries initiative. 

Neighborhood Gateway Galleries is a citywide public art initiative to transform freeway underpasses, which currently divide neighborhoods by impeding walkability, into spaces of connection. Through an artist-driven process, these liminal spaces will become public galleries for exhibiting participatory art projects created by residents.

The site of this public art project is a 120-foot-wide by 930-foot-long woodland populated with mature oaks, adjacent to Rifle Range Creek. SunCal, the Oak Knoll master developer, is seeking an artist or team of artists who will create permanent art that respects and takes advantage of the natural setting.  This project will require materials that are permanent, durable, weather resistant and low maintenance.

This open ended juried exhibition & coalition will offer artists the opportunity to show their creativity and support for the Trump movement. Honors will be given to the top 1-50 artists. This is not a fundraiser.

The Bonnaroo Works Fund in partnership with Arts at the Airport, are seeking proposals for 5 temporary public art work Bonnaroo-themed displays at the Nashville International Airport in Nashville, Tennessee. The display, which will be suspended from the ceiling from March 13, 2017– January 21, 2018, encompasses 5 skylights located in the airport concourses on the secure side of the terminal. Each selected artist will receive an honorarium of $2,000 and 2 general admission tickets to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.  The ideal project will be of highest artistic quality (any media) and should be inspired by the principles of the Bonnaroovian Code. The public art work could communicate the Bonnaroo brand to new and familiar audiences through incorporation of the following project elements:

Gallery 110’s annual juried exhibition will showcase work by emerging and established artists. Our gallery location and reputation offer artists exposure to professional reviews, access to Seattle’s Pioneer Square gallery district and First Thursday Art Walk.

Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2017 is a juried show featuring contemporary art by Texas artists.

On behalf of the City of Capitola, the Capitola Art and Cultural Commission is seeking an artist or artist team to create a Sidewalk Railing Art Project. This is known as the Capitola's Sidewalk Railing Art Project.

SITE & PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Capitola’s Sidewalk Railing Art Project is located on one of the primary entry routes to Capitola Village.  Capitola Village is located along a wide beach with a breathtaking view of the Monterey Bay and is home to numerous craft galleries, boutiques and restaurants.  It is here where many events take place such as the Begonia Festival, Annual Art and Wine Festival, Twilight Concerts and Art shows.  In addition to the events, Capitola Beach is a destination spot for tourists, the railing will be visible to many thousands of people.
