constructed in 1890, the Wyoming State Capitol building was closed to
the public in 2016 and is currently undergoing a largescale renovation
(Capitol Square Project) that is slated for completion in spring of
2019. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
as a National Historic Landmark.

central rotunda of the Capitol contains four niches on the third level
that are visible from all levels of the rotunda. The State of Wyoming is

is a new nonprofit organization located in Charlotte, NC, whose mission

The
City of Sandpoint’s newest roundabout is situated near the northern
edge of Sandpoint city limits, at the intersection of Boyer and
Schweitzer Cutoff roads. It is a connection between many different
cultural, industrial and recreational opportunities. This intersection
provides access to the industrial business areas surrounding the
Sandpoint Airport, shopping and dining in neighboring City of Ponderay,

The
Artist in Residence program offers professional artists of all kinds
the opportunity to pursue their art in the premier wilderness setting of
Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Writers, composers,
two and three-dimensional visual artists, photographers, digital
artists, filmmakers, and artisans are all encouraged to apply.
The
residency lasts approximately two weeks. This includes several days in
Bettles, Alaska to pack and prepare for the trip, eight days in the
back country and then a few days for the artist to prepare and give a
community program about their experience. The artist will accompany
park staff on a working back country patrol in July, August or early
September and will be expected to participate in the working aspects of
the patrol. Patrols may accommodate the artist to a certain extent, but
artists must be both physically fit enough to attempt such a journey
and also possess the skills and experience for extended rigorous
wilderness travel.

Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s 2018 Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island

The year-long Art On The Green Sculpture Garden Exhibition at the Kemp
Center for the Arts is in its 14th year. This is the first year we will
be opening the event to juried artwork rather than by invitation. In
addition to installation stipends, there will be three cash prizes
awarded by the juror/judge at the time of installation.
Artwork is exhibited for 12 months. All forms of outdoor sculpture will
be considered, provided it meets the requirements of the prospectus.
The exhibit space surrounds a large public building; artwork will be
placed throughout the site at the sole discretion of the contracted
installer and Arts Council staff.

River Press seeks cover art for its third annual poetry publication.
The winning artwork will be featured on the front cover of Deirdre
Callanan’s poetry collection, Water-Dreaming, set to be
released in the spring of 2018. Editor Angela Howes and Supervising
Editor Lauren Wolk will review all submissions before sending a small
group of finalists to Callanan, who will select the winning artwork.
Callanan’s
work was chosen by poetry judge Lisa Starr as the winner of Bass River
Press’ third poetry competition. A small sample from her upcoming
manuscript has been provided below. Please review the poems for
inspiration, and cater your submission to the themes, language, and
ideas presented there. Callanan will select the winning artwork based on
its suitability to the poetry collection the artwork represents.
