The show embraces reinvention, wherein artists provide a juxtaposition of traditional styles and cutting-edge practices in dynamic imagery. SYNC Gallery will be awarding one student, recent graduate or emerging artist an associate membership worth over $600 in SYNC Gallery for 2018.

The Marina is an often over looked gateway to the city and public art could welcome visitors arriving by boat and deepen the pride of locals. Preservation of existing views will be a significant consideration.  Artist or artists may propose installations in any or all of three key locations on the project site. The public areas of Marina Park on the Northwest corner of the Marina have been prioritized for public art. The City of Navasota and The Arts Council of Brazos Valley invite artists to apply for a six month residency in Navasota, Texas! The Artists in Residence will have an opportunity to live, work, and exhibit in the historic Horlock Home in Navasota, Texas, which includes living and studio space for each of the three selected artists as well as a retail gallery space. The residency period is six (6) months from mid-February to mid-August 2018.

The City of Navasota will provide amenities including living/studio space, retail gallery space, internet, cable, and utilities free of charge to selected artists with the purpose of providing artists the opportunity to create and sell their work. Each artist will also receive a one-time $600 stipend at the beginning of the residency to assist with groceries, fuel, and supply purchases.

In a public/private partnership with the Chicago Public Library, Chicago Housing Authority, Illinois Housing Development Authority, and the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), Evergreen Real Estate Group invites professional artists to submit their qualifications for a public art commission for the new Northtown Branch Library. This commission opportunity is for a large two-dimensional or shallow relief wall mounted artwork for a large wall in the main entrance area (approximately 26 feet tall x 20 feet wide). The community has a demonstrated interest in site-specific artwork that responds to the community’s clearly stated desire that the public art for their library be reflective of community diversity, as well as intellectual curiosity, creativity and a thirst for knowledge expressed in a visually sophisticated manner. While a variety of media will be considered, the community has expressed a desire for mosaic.

The Arts Council of Indianapolis, in partnership with the Buckingham Companies, requests the qualifications of artists interested in completing permanent, exterior artworks for the Living Alley at Buckingham’s Library Square property, located at 923 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis. One site is a three-story wall surface; the other site is a one-story wall surface.  Projects will be completed sequentially. The total artwork budget is $200,000.

The Tubac Center of the Arts presents Earth, an exhibition of art created from materials related to the earth--including clay, bronze, ceramic, wood, glass, terra cotta, soapstone, metal, and most sculptural materials. Artists are urged to enter work which is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract.  Work must have been completed within the last 24 months.  Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible.  All work must be the original creation of the artist.

Please note the turnaround time for this exhibition is relatively short. As such, the TCA has reduced the jurying fee to $25 and $20 for members.

Blue Sky established the Pacific Northwest Photography Viewing Drawers (“the Drawers”) program in 2007 to feature a juried public archive of original prints by contemporary photographers based in the region. Visitors to Blue Sky’s galleries in Portland are welcome to enjoy work in the Drawers by simply opening any one of the archival flatfiles, or by asking at the Front Desk for assistance. The Drawers program has quickly become a favorite aspect of Blue Sky’s ongoing programming, available to approximately 25,000 visitors annually.

Originally constructed in 1890, the Wyoming State Capitol building was closed to the public in 2016 and is currently undergoing a largescale renovation (Capitol Square Project) that is slated for completion in spring of 2019. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark.

The central rotunda of the Capitol contains four niches on the third level that are visible from all levels of the rotunda. The State of Wyoming is seeking four human figure based, cast bronze or carved stone sculptures for the niches that are allegorical and based on Wyoming attributes and values.

The City of Lakeland, Florida, in cooperation with the Polk Museum of Art, is accepting submissions from sculptors to participate in The 18th Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition. Submitted sculptures will be juried by representatives from the City of Lakeland, the Polk Museum of Art, and members of the local art community. The top scoring sculptures will be selected for a one-year exhibition in downtown Lakeland, Florida. Sculptures will be on loan from February 2017 through February 2018. Sculptures will be publicized and a People’s Choices Award will be given based on the voting of the community.

Details: This call for entries is open to all sculptors working in North America.
Entries must be submitted by December 31st, 2017.
Submissions require a $25 nonrefundable applications fee per artist.
