Open Call: COLLIDE International Award

COLLIDE Artists Residency Award is the flagship programme of arts@cern." class="system_dynamic_content_email_link">arts@cern. By bringing world-class artists and scientists together in a free exchange of ideas, the COLLIDE award explores elements even more elusive than the Higgs boson: human ingenuity, creativity and imagination. The programme gives artists the time and space to reflect, research and renew their artistic practice and career by encountering the multi-dimensional world of particle physics in carefully curated encounters.

Since 2011 the COLLIDE award calls to artists to win a fully funded residency for up to 3 months at CERN.

The COLLIDE award works in three forms:

COLLIDE International Award. COLLIDE CERN FACT Framework Partnership 2016-2018.

COLLIDE Geneva. Cultural partners the Republic and Canton of Geneva and The City of Geneva.

COLLIDE Pro Helvetia. Partnership with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.

In its beginning, the international award started as a three-year partnership (2011-2014) with Ars Electronica, as The Prix Ars Electronica Collide@CERN, funded by private sponsors, with the prize money supported by our cultural partners Ars Electronica, Linz. In 2015, the partnership carried on for one more year with the COLLIDE Ars Electronica award.

The awards are made following open calls, and the jury comprises the cultural partners as well as representatives from arts@cern, including scientists.
