ANNOUNCING THE 2017 ART KUDOS EXHIBITION AWARD WINNERS...
 
We are very excited to announce the opening of the 2017 Art Kudos International Exhibition. Congratulations to all of the artists accepted into the show!
 
This year 156 artists representing 21 countries were accepted into the show: Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.
 
Award selections were made by Mike Calway-Fagen. Mike is an artist, writer, educator and curator of exhibitions at Stove Works in Chattanooga, TN (opening June 2018).
 
Best of Show was awarded to Penghuan Guo (Boston, MA) for her captivating screenprint titled "Job." Second Place went to Brianna Robinson (Charlotte, NC) for her gripping photograph titled "Amara." Third Place was awarded to Joseph Paushel (Cincinnati, OH) for his unique sculptural piece, "To Describe a Body."
 
Three artists received Merit Awards: Nathaniel St. Amour (Burke, VA) for his intriguing painting titled "You Saved The Village 4 Times," Ethan Johnson (Henderson, TX) for his digital illustration of "Oni & Duck Ride," and Jason Skoog (La Crescent, MN) for his digital piece titled "2016-10-02."
 
Honorable Mentions were awarded to: Lauren Novak (Canton, MI) for "Home, Detailed No. 2," Namwon Choi (Savannah, GA) for "Passage (water)," and Brianna Deterling (Poplar, WI) for "Making Places: February."
 
Pam Comeau (Laval, Québec, Canada) was selected by the co-founders of the competition to receive the Award of Distinction for her prophetic and impactful painting "Daughters of Mother Earth."
 
The exhibition and juror's comments can be viewed at www.artKudos.com. After a period of one year, the show will be archived for future viewing along with previous Art Kudos exhibitions at www.artkudos.com/archived_exhibitions.html.
 
There is also a share button on the website so artists can let their friends know about the exhibition.
 
Art Kudos is an annual international juried competition. Finalists benefit from world-wide exposure and have the opportunity to win cash awards for their exemplary work. The competition is sponsored by Artshow.com, a company that offers web-based services and resources for artists and arts organizations.
